Hill's Prescription Diet Canine u/d Urinary Care Originals is a complete dietetic dry food for adult dogs that suffer with urinary issues or bladder stones. It can help to reduce the occurrence of bladder stones, as well as dissolving existing urate, oxalate and cystine urolith crystals.
This tasty food can also be used to treat chronic kidney problems thanks to a reduced, but high quality, protein content. 26% chicken and maize gluten deliver valuable amino acids, while limiting the amount of broken down proteins in the bloodstream. There is also a lower salt content to reduce the fluid retention that often comes with kidney trouble and can also be an early symptom of cardiac disorder.
Rounding out this recipe is a balanced mix of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals, as well as beta carotene and natural antioxidants. These compounds work together and can help to improve your dog's bodily functions and immune system. Works well
this food was recommended by our vet as my Dalmatian has had bladder stones and urate crystals in the past, it seems to work well has he's barely had any issues since he's been on the food (about 5 years)
I always buy from bitiba as its the cheapest!

apparently delicious
This food has very little odor and our Mia is not bloated, even though her poop is the same yellow colour as the food - which could be due to the Allopurinol she is on, or the food. What I don't like is how small the kibbles are. With larger kibbles she at least chews more instead of just inhaling her food. According to the ingredient list, the only animal ingredient is a little oil - have to be careful with the purines. I give a little chicken broth in addition.
