This dry food is designed for cats suffering with urinary problems. It helps to maintain urinary health as well as aiding in dissolving struvite crystals and stones.

Hill’s Prescription Diet Feline s/d Urinary Care Chicken has been developed for cats who suffer from urinary problems. A common complaint is FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease), which often results in the development of crystals which may lead to bladder stones. Of these, the most frequent in the urinary tract are struvite and calcium phosphate crystals.

These crystals and stones usually develop due to increased amounts of magnesium, ammonium and phosphorous in the urine, along with an alkaline urine pH level. This balanced dry food makes the urine pH more acidic, which helps to dissolve struvite stones.
